Binding rubbed and general wear. Pages a bit brittle and varying degrees of waterstaining throughout. Mild to moderate foxing. A lovely early Bible printed on the Plantin Press. 6 5/8 by 4 5/8 inches. Plantin Press was one of the most prominent publishing houses in Europe during the 16th century, established by Christophe Plantin in Antwerp. Plantin, originally from France, fled to Antwerp to escape religious persecution and set up his printing business there in 15551. His press became famous for its high-quality printing and beautiful bindings.
