Charming and simple 1950s watercolour study of an older lady. Done in subtle grey on a large sheet of art paper measuring 56 x 38 centimetres. Part of a large collection of sketches, paintings and drawings of nude subjects, all by the same artist. Many are works in progress, featuring practice sketches or shading around the edges or on the reverse. They are unsigned but several are dated, all in the early to mid 50s. Unquestionably of real people, with characterful faces and real bodies.
