RNZAF Battle of Britain ace John Noble Mackenzie downs a Bf109E near Maidstone, 5th October 1940. All while flying with 41 Squadron. He was awarded a DFC in November of 1940. He was later transferred to 488 (NZ) Squadron flying Brewster Buffaloes in the defense of Singapore.
