A Fragment of the Sahidic Version of Luke. [From: Le Muséon, Tome 101, Fasc. 3-4

22,00 €

From the library of Prof. Wolfgang Haase, long-time editor of the ANRW and the International Journal of the Classical Tradition (IJCT). - With dedication by the author. - Binding a bit bumped, author's name handwritten on cover, otherwise clean. - From the text: The text of P.Mich.inv. 4969.20 (12.5 x 16.5 cm, 6th-7th Cent.) is described as follows in W. H. Worrell, Coptic Texts in the University of Michigan Collection (University of Michigan Studies, Humanistic series, 46), Ann Arbor, 1942, p. 10: «leaf from a vellum MS, somewhat mutilated». It provides a continuous text of Luke 21.36-22.10. I have dated it to the 6th-7th century by comparison with M. Cramer, Koptische Paläographie, Wiesbaden, 1964, nos. 15 and 16 (although it is not as well executed as the latter).
