A Study of Nominal Inflection in Latin Inscriptions. A Morpho-Syntactic Analysis
From the library of Prof. Wolfgang Haase, long-time editor of ANRW and the International Journal of the Classical Tradition (IJCT). - A little bit smudged on the back, otherwise good condition. - The favorable reception that our phonological study on local differences in Vulgar Latin was accorded by reviewers has encouraged us to pursue our our linguistic inquiry based on Christian Inscriptions of the funerary type. In this study we are attempting to give an organic treatment of an important area of morphology: the nominal flection. Specifically, it has been our aim to determine the extent to which this inscriptional material reflects the transformation of the Classical Latin multi-case system into the eventual one-case system of the Western Roman languages.
