After the Dust Has Settled is the autobiography of Tom Ellis, MP who had two notable careers as a manager in the coal industry and as the member of Parliament for Wrexham in north Wales. Born in Rhosllannerchrugog, the son of a coal miner, he received a university education before becoming a colliery manager at Bersham Colliery in 1957. Elected as the Labour MP for Wrexham in 1970 he became one of the founders of the Social Democratic Party following the publication of the so-called 'Limehouse Declaration' in 1981.
