AMONG MEN AND HORSES by Captain M Horace Hayes renowned horse vet who wrote several books on horses late 1800’s, published by Fisher Unwin London 1894 second edition illustrated with reproduced photos, 358 rough edged pages which have some dust toning and occasional foxing, endpapers are clean with personal bookplate and pencil writing inside front cover as photo plus more pencil names on freepaper pre- title page, the title page has tissue protected frontispiece but some block tanning from the tissue, gilt edging still present on top rims, pictorial cloth covers have wear and rubbing to extremities but gilded imagery bright, spine worn and slightly discoloured with wear to ends
