Drifters' Greatest Hits by The Drifters
More than forty singers can lay claim to having been members of The Drifters at one time or another over the last sixty plus years. It is a list that contains some of the finest R&B singers of their generation, including Clyde Mc- Phatter, Ben E King, Johnny Moore (who is probably the most recognisable voice as far as British audiences are concerned) and Bill Pinkney on lead, ably assisted by a veritable treasure trove of vocalists. This particular collection of greatest hits was originally released in 1960 and variously features the lead vocals of Ben E King, Johnny Moore, Charlie Thomas, Elsbeary Hobbs, Tommy Evans, Bobby Hendricks and Johnny Lee Williams, with the tracks featuring their major smashes 'There Goes My Baby' and 'Dance With Me'.
