Early 19th Century Leather Bound Bible

This is an excellent example of a Victorian family bible, circa 1850-70. It is beautifully bound in highly tooled black leather, and deeply embossed on the front, spine and back. The gilding on the lettering is in excellent condition, with no signs of wear. The gold edges in the pages is also in excellent condition. The spine is completely intact, with no signs of cracking or splitting. There is a small amount of foxing on some of the pages, commensurate with it’s age, the colour plates inside are still bright and clear, as are the engraving plates. This is a stunning bible and has been truly well cared for. N.B. This is a very heavy bible.
