I acquired this well-made English watercolor on paper from a dealer colleague in Paris. He, in turn, says he turned it up at a village flea market in Hertfordshire. The thatched roof on the old barn needs a repair, but that contributes to an interesting interplay of forms and afternoon light (chimney, old door).
