DOMBEY AND SON by Charles Dickens published by the Folio Society 1984 and this is the first edition of this novel illustrated by the brilliant Charles Keeping (see also in photos the extract from the Times 1981 about Keeping’s involvement in this), clean throughout with no obvious marks or damage, endpapers clean but inside cover has previous owner’s library label, beautiful cloth lilac and green covers with minimal wear to edges and corners, gilt lettering and patterns to spine bright, slipcase has slight splits at ends plus light abrasion to a corner mainly from storage and tightness of book fit, KEEPING’S ILLUSTRATIONS ARE STUNNING IF NOT QUITE EERIE AND MYSTERIOUS
