In 1927, he appeared at the Opernhaus in Hannover in the premiere of Joseph Gustav Mraczek’s opera Herrn Dürers Bild. He initially studied singing under tenor Hanns Nietan in Dessau and later continued his vocal training with the renowned baritone Harry de Garmo in Wiesbaden.
