From the library of Prof. Wolfgang Haase, long-time editor of ANRW and the International Journal of the Classical Tradition (IJCT). - With dedication by the author to Dr. Haase. - Author's name handwritten on the cover, warped, otherwise clean. - From the text: Scholars continue to puzzle over the meaning of the Syriac in Ode 16: 8, despite the extended discussions during the last century. Recently a critic, unfamiliar with the scholarly debates, claimed incorrectly that the verb cannot be an active participle and should be vocalized to mean and that which is revealed'.
