This system requires cable to work. You will need Ethernet LAN cable, just like the cable that your internet router uses, or you can run Cat5/6/7 and use RJ45 connectors, this cable is very common and easy to find. If you do not select a HDD then there will be no recording, its highly recommend you select a HDD unless you have your own. A monitor is needed to view the CCTV however you can use a smart TV or connect to the internet and view on your smart device or PC.
