Ex-football star Henry Butler (Steve Guttenberg) endures community service at a children's home and becomes the butt of the kid's mischievous practical jokes. The home's adminstrator Karen urges Henry to help channel the children's energies into sport, but he refuses to coach their soccer team. Without professional guidance, the boys lose match after match, even though the discipline of competition does appear to have a positive effect on their behaviour.
