Black cloth with gilt lettering to the spine, in the excellent dust jacket designed by Chris Wormell—probably more striking than the first. The author’s debut novel which was an instant success, though one which seemed to tag Chatwin as solely a travel writer, which wasn’t really the case. A fine copy, the book fine, the binding tight and square, the contents clean throughout with some light and even toning from paper quality. The dust jacket unclipped and near fine, with a few light marks to the spine panel, perhaps a touch or water damage but minor in truth and not seeping to the boards. A sharp copy.
