Written by Emily Murphy, the first female magistrate in Canada and renowned feminist, this book is biographical in nature covering impressions and experiences of travel in the West of Canada. Blue decorated boards with gilt lettering are faded and bumped at corners/edges as well as a tear to cloth at bottom near spine. Moisture damage to top of rear board has caused discolouring as per photo. Second cover page and front piece plate are loose from binding. Internal pages are are generally clean with some minor foxing with worst being pages 16/17 and occasional finger smudges as per photo of page 131.
