Boards have wear present to the extremities of the boards (boards are chipped and worn). Ex-library item with bookplate present to the reverse of the front board, previous owner's name present to the FFEP. Text is clean and free of marks. Binding tight and solid. In 1829, frustrated by the lack of progress in search of a northwest passage, a philanthropic gin distiller, Felix Booth, sponsored John Ross's second expedition. With his nephew James Clark Ross as second-in-command, Ross sailed down Prince Regent Sound in search of an opening to the west.
