The set is in Very Good- condition and, was issued without a dust jacket. The leather binding is in, good solid condition. There is some light cracking to the front, spine joint of Volume Two. The spine ends and corners have some, rubbing, wear and light bumping. There is a can ring on the, front of volume two. Xxxi, 425, lvii; viii, 537, lxiv pp. ,, including Half-title pages. The text pages are generally clean, and bright, though there are spots of toning and foxing. A, previous owner underlined bits of the table of contents,, especially relating to Masonry. There are two fold-out, illustrations, one a map, one a hand-drawn illustration. Both, fold-outs are mostly clean and bright. There is some light edge, wear to the rice paper fold outs, but no major tears, or chips, missing. There are also inked and penciled notations to the, endpapers - also regarding masonry, and bits of family history., The previous owner's bookplate is on the front pastedown page, of both volumes (LeRoy V. Brant -- a later relation of Joseph, Brant).
