During the 1950s Lilliput was edited by Jack Hargreaves. The first 147 issues, until late 1949, had covers illustrated by Walter Trier; each design employed a man, a woman and a dog. For most of its existence the cover of Lilliput depicted a young woman with a young man and a small terrier dog in various situations and periods.
