These included the Gresley 2-6-2Ts of VI and V3, and the LNER 1 class 2-6-4-T introduced in 1945. Two of the most interesting classes were the A8s, rebuilds of a 1913 4-4-4T design, and the A5 4-6-2Ts, first introduced by the Great Central.
