From the rear side cover:The two foot gauge railway that connected the Cliffe Hill granite quarries near Markfield with the Midland Railway was typical of many similar industrial railway systems. Worked by a varied fleet of Bagnall locomotives, these were later joined by two Sentinel geared machines and a Kerr Stuart "Haig" class side tank that had once hauled timber on the Kerry Tramway in Wales.
