This is a rare and highly collectible first edition of Soviet writer Mikhail Bulgakov's classic novel "Master and Margarita" in the Russian language. It is numbered 2850. After a censored, truncated version of the instant classic was published in two instalments in Moscow magazine, the full typescript of Bulgakov’s greatest and final novel was smuggled out to Paris. Published in June 1967 by YMCA (which had also published Alexander Solzhenitsyn) this first printing made publishing history. This edition of the book is in excellent condition - it looks unread. The binding is intact (though it has loosened a little on pages 192/3). It shows some signs of wear and tear, mostly colour fading/staining of the jacket.
