The Multicar 24 was manufactured from 1974 at the VEB Fahrzeugwerk Waltershausen in the GDR. Compared to its predecessor, the M22, it was now equipped with a significantly more powerful, newly developed four-cylinder, four-stroke, fluidised chamber diesel engine from the Cunewalde engine factory with 45 hp and water cooling.
