This is a first edition of New Writing 2 published by Bodley Head in 1936. It includes the first appearance of Orwell's famous essay 'Shooting an Elephant'. The book is very good if somewhat browned. Previous owner name on first free endpaper. The scarce jacket is good but browned, worn and faded with some shallow chipping to the head and bottom of the spine. It has been price clipped. Quite a scarce item.
