A vintage original (NOT a copy or reprint) Russian Soviet period propaganda poster, ink on paper. A very striking and large Perestroika era poster of a large hammer & sickle on an anvil. ''Union, born in October, 1917''. The poster commemorates the Russian revolution of 1917 and emphasizes the importance, as well as the cost, of peace. Artist: S. Shakhunov Publisher: Plakat, Moscow Date: 1987 The poster measures approximately 38 1/2 x 26 1/2 inches. The poster has a clean, super bright image and general overall wear.
