Wartime A-8b Oxygen Mask Typical with these masks, the bladder is disintegrated and gone. The rest of the rubber is quite supple and wearable. The sponges are present but petrifying. Attached leather straps are stiff but leather buckle portions are a little better. Plastic nose guard is in good shape with no cracks. Elastics are about a 25% elasticity. Cardboard elastic retainers are intact. Plastic mask-to-bladder internal transition fully intact. Hose is very supple with no noticeable cracks. Markings include: “Arctic” on hose, “Type A-8B”, “Ohio Chemical & MFG Co”, “Arctic Intended”, “Drawing No 42G4764”, and “4 43” around filters.
