Here is a first Penguin edition of Penguin Book 396 - The Penguin Herodotus Volume II edited by A.J. Evans, 1942, 159 pages of classic Greek history, including the wars between Greece and Persia - Marathon, Xerxes at the Hellespont, Thermopylae and Leonidas, Salamis, Plataea and the destruction of the Persian Fleet, with a torn cover and spine otherwise all in good condition. Like all wartime Penguins, this book is printed on very poor quality paper and is quite frail. I have hundreds of first Penguin editions for sale at my Kongwak store in South Gippsland which is open every Sunday - keep watching for further listings.
