A very good copy of the first Phoenix Library edition of volume II of Swann's Way from Proust's Remembrance of Things Past, published by Chatto & Windus in 1929. 4 1/2 x 7 inches, pp. 288 plus 4 leaves of publisher's adverts for Phoenix Library. Original publisher's blue board, gilt titling and decoration to spine, blind-stamped Phoenix logo to front board. Boards are clean and square, some mild rubbing; spine and gilding a little faded. End-papers and page-block clean throughout, tightly bound; some spots of foxing, mainly to the outside front edge of the block, some of it impinging onto page edges. No d/w.
