Rare little find. Famous for establishing…'It was a dark and stormy night.' Originally published in 1830. This edition was published in 1848. Includes a frontispiece designed by H. K. Browne introducing the character of Peter Clifford. Very worn with rubbing to the boards and spine resulting in loss. Cracking to the joints. Fading to the leather. Bind is solid. Spotting and foxing throughout. There is an old pasted page remains on the first few pages as shown but the text block is otherwise good. Wear to all the board extremities - price reflects this.
