Beatrice Warde, who died in 1969, was the publicity manager of The Monotype Corporation, and played a major role in promoting good typography and quality design. She famously created a number of iconic pieces, including her essay 'The Crystal Goblet' and the poster 'This is a Printing Office' which, cast in bronze, now stands at the entrance of the United States printing office. This memorial issue of the Monotype Recorder is a collection of her writing and talks. It is rare copy of a very collectable publication.
