Consequently, the journal has undergone some alterations - the articles cover a single theme and there are no book reviews and has simultaneously established a set of editorial and orthographical norms for use in all future editions. Born at the family castle in Navarre on 7 April 1505, the man who would be recorded for posterity as St. Francis Xavier, would die on the island of Sangchuan, at the gates of China, while working for the Portuguese crown. By then, he had already spent some twelve years carrying out missionary work as he crossed India, Southeast Asia and Japan.
