…… This antique Victorian Grand Tour Oil Painting is executed on copper and depicts a grandmother with a young baby on her lap, playing with a sponge in a yellow-ware bowl full of water. After optically searching this image, we found that this loving genre scene was originally painted by the German artist Johann Georg Meyer von Bremen (1813-1886). Measuring 9” by 12”, this circa 1900 Copper Oil Painting is finely executed and in original, un-restored condition. It comes ready to display in a quality 13” by 14 ½” gold gilt and ebonized frame with slight edge and surface wear.
