The Black Mist by Keith Adam Luethke
When a mysterious black mist descends from the night sky the world goes into a panic, fleeing neighborhoods, and flooding to refugee centers for shelter. But the black mist is far deadlier than anyone could ever imagine as it slips through cracks in windows and under doors, poisoning those that breathe it in. Deciding to stay home and brace the storm, a man and woman with two children decide to wait indoors, and wake up to an apocalypse the world has never known; bodies litter suburban streets, and empty vehicles block highways, as roaming gangs prowl for victims, and the black mist lingers, choking out all life it encounters.
