A first edition of David Plante's 1974 novel, The Darkness of the Body, containing a dedicatory letter to a Mr Herbert. Dated Feb 3, 1974, with David Plante's address at the time at the foot. The letter safety pinned inside (see images). The jacket is slightly worn, especially along the top edge, and more so at the top of the spine and board corners. The boards at the front lightly dented at the top and bottom (see images).
