The English Struwwelpeter Or Pretty Stories and Funny Pictures For Little Children by Dr. Heinrich Hoffmann Publisher: Friedrich Volckmar, Leipzig, c.1870, seventeenth edition. 24 pages printed on one side only, illustrations hand coloured. Good condition, sympathetically rebound in hard covers with the original wraps laid down on the front and back boards, and publisher's advertisements laid down on the inside of the boards. The first blank page is creased and has losses, and this and the first three text pages are mounted on paper tabs. the pages have some very short closed tears, some minor chips, and light handling marks. The hand-coloured illustrations are bright and clear. Please see the photos, of which there are more at the bottom of the listing. 26.5cm, 10.5 inches, tall.
