This attractive smart book is in good condition. The highly decorated Olive boards have a few minor marks and are a little faded..especially the ext spine.The Front cover is impressed with a black pattern and a gilt logo with the title in gilt too..this is continued onto the external spine.The internal pages are both moderately tanned and foxed in places.There is a lengthy monologue inscription written in attractive handwriting in the inside cover page..thus is dated 1881...the 1st edition was published in 1878 but there is no date within the book..Therefore I would suggest there is "small" chance that this "might" be a 1st edition
