Unclipped dustwrapper has been strengthened with sellotape round the edges by a previous owner, minor bumping to spine ends of green cloth-covered boards, previous owner's name on rev of f/ep, otherwise a good clean tight copy of this hard-cover novel, being the second in the author's ''Immortal Memory'' series dealing with the life of Robert Burns. This one covers the period from when he farmed Mossgeil with his brother Gilbert up to November 1786 when he left for Edinburgh. Originally published in 1947, this is the sixth impression from 1954. 512pp, endpaper maps.
