First Edition 1993 (Australia) copy of Tony Curtis’ Autobiography. As a bookseller in Melbourne in the same year I had the privilege to host Tony at my bookshop. I’d say he was a gentleman but let’s face it, he was a massive Hollywood star who had to sit on stage in a shopping centre on the other side of the world signing hundreds of books before moving onto the next city and shopping centre. Rinse / repeat. He seemed to make a point about wanting to personalise every book at this particular signing but acquiesced for me and simply signed his name. In very good order, there’s a little fading, scuffs and bruising on the dust-jacket and some signs of age on the foredge.
