In November 1914 two small sisters, Jon and Rumer returned to India. They had spent a year in London being brought up by austere aunts but with the zeppelins expected they were summoned back home to East Bengal. This joint collaboration is a remembrance of the five years that followed living in the village of Narayangunj where their father worked as a steamship agent on a bustling river. Book of the month club selection. Dust jacket is complete and in excellent condition with a plastic protective sleeve. Yellow and blue boards with gilt titles to spine are in very good condition with minimal wear. Previous owner's name/address stamp on second cover page. Internal pages are clean and unmarked.
