This is "The story of a Regiment, told by the men of the 68th Light Infantry, during the Crimean and New Zealand Wars, 1854-1866." Later the the 1st Battalion The Durham Light Infantry, the 68th fought throughout the Crimea War 1854-1856. Returning briefly to the UK, the 68th was posted to Burma, arriving in March 1858. From Burma the Regiment was sent to New Zealand, arriving in January 1864. Here the 68th fought in several engagements before departing for the UK in Mar 1866. The Author provides a huge amount of detail, with many interesting foot notes, along with casualty lists and medal rolls.
